The Flamenco Show La Pepa by Sara Baras comes to Malaga

The Flamenco Show “La Pepa” by Sara Baras comes to the Cervantes Theatre in Malaga for two nights, on the 22nd and 23rd of January.

The show commemorates the 200th anniversary of the first Spanish Constitution, known as La Pepa, in a flamenco drama based on the life in Cádiz around 1812.  The show places the viewer in the War of Independence when Spain is taken by Napoleon's troops and the only remaining free stronghold is the Bay of Cádiz.

This Flamenco show represents the importance of creating a constitution, the horror of war, the beauty of its land, the importance of hope, the taste of freedom and joy of life with details of the beautiful Cádiz and the peculiar nature of its inhabitants, coming down to our own Pepa today, two centuries later.

The critics have only positive reviews of La Pepa and highlight the names of the artists involved, it’s gorgeous choreography, its musical greatness and perfect scenery coupled with an exquisite costumes.
